'Apocalyptic,
the adjectival form, refers to a visionary, "biblical style"
of writing about eschatological matters or to "influences from apocalypticism
or from one or more apocalypses".'
Literature
which essentially falls under the above definition, is included in the
following tables as 'apocalyptic'. Other literature, which only shows
apocalyptic elements, is mentioned in under the respective heading. Click
on the underlined titles to go to the texts, or their commentaries. As
the title says, this table only contains texts written in Old English.
Latin works of Anglo-Saxon writers are included in the corresponding
list in 'Apocalyptic Theories'.
